While actress Sunshine Cruz refused to further talk about estranged husband Cesar Montano as they already have a court gag order, she hoped that he will just be happy for their kids as they are doing well with her.
The proud mother of Angelina, Sam, and Chesca said that three girls are performing well in school and that they dream of becoming beauty queens someday.
Recalling that Sunshine, herself, joined a beauty pageant before, she told PUSH.com.ph, “That was year ‘99 or 2000, hindi ko lang alam ‘yung exact year but parang someone was dethroned and then I was being considered to represent our country. But, unfortunately, that time I was very busy with movies and of course, malilipat ‘yung management sa Binibining Pilipinas Charities. Of course, hindi naman gugustuhin ‘yan ng aking manager because I was earning well naman that time.”
She added, “Kaya sayang, sayang ‘yung opportunity but I understand and maybe it’s really not for me. Baka isa sa mga anak ko kasi dream nila talaga maging beauty queen. Sabi ko nga ngayon, they just have to to study well para naman hindi tayo pumalakda sa question and answer portion.”
When asked if she is urging them to join the beauty contest, Sunshine said, “It’s actually not me. It’s themselves talaga. Parang gusto lang talaga nila and they would always tell me na, ‘Mom, I want to be a beauty queen soon.’ Pero sabi ko nga, ‘Whatever you want in life, I will always support you. But you have to just finish your studies kasi puro honor students,” sharing that her kids are second and third honors in their respective classes.
Meanwhile, the Dolce Amore actress, for her part, shared that she is taking up BA Psychology at Arellano University. Currently in her first year, Sunshine shared how the program will go, “Kung mabilis bilis kong masasagutan ‘yung mga modules at mga exams ng maayos, I could finish it in a year, a year or two.” However, she added, “But kasi sa sobrang busy ngayon, medyo mahihirapan ako so I think more or less, baka mga two years kong matatapos ito pero ang importante makakuha tayo ng diploma.” Sunshine said that she has long been wanting to return to school ever since she took a hiatus from show business. “But unfortunately, mayroon mga bagay na hindi matuloy kasi may mga hindi pumapayag or… Dapat kasi support ‘pag ganyan so I’m just so happy that the kids are supporting me right now.”
Sharing what she envisions after she finishes her course, Sunshine said, “I can use it for my kids, of course, to talk to them para di ba, maintindihan ko kung ano ‘yung mga gusto nila at ‘yung mga pinagdadaanan nila. And, I can also use that kasi nasa restaurant business din ako, I’m a chef and sooner or later, I can use that sa mga staff ko. Sabi nga ng mga tao, after this, ‘Why don’t you take up law?’ Sabi ko, my god, baka mamaya 60 years old na ako, hindi ko pa natatapos so kung ano man ang mga magagandang pwede kong paggamitan niya, ‘dun ko siya gagamitin.”
