EXCLUSIVE: Karla Estrada to follow ‘Queen Mother Concert’ with an album
050216-karla_main.jpgAfter conquering the KIA Theater with her first concert titled Her Highness: The Queen Mother In Concert on Saturday, actress Karla Estrada is reviving her singing career for good.

In an exclusive interview with Push.com.ph, Karla confirmed that her fans can expect to hear more from her soon.

“Yes may papalabas akong album. Siguro this coming third week of May. Basta May, so abangan nalang nila,” she said without adding any more details about it.

It may be recalled that last February, Karla took to her Instagram account to announce that she is almost done recording for her album. The Queen Mother first revealed of her plan to release an album mid last year, after her stint on Your Face Sounds Familiar.

What many do not know is that her upcoming album would not be her first one as she has already released a self-titled album and a single titled “Lean on Me” in the past.

Meanwhile, Karla, was very grateful over her successful concert. Among the guests were her Your Face Sounds Familiar family, Tutti Caringal, Nyoy Volante, Jay-r, and EA Guzman. Her Magandang Buhay co-momshies Jolina Magdangal and Melai Cantiveros were also there.  Even the Tawag ng Tanghalan contenders Gidget Dela Llana and Maricel Callo also offered a song.

But the guest who stood out that night was one of Karla’s best friends, comedian Vice Ganda, with whom she had a long and no-holds-barred banter onstage.

Mostly though, Karla showcased that she really still has it as a singer when she belted songs from Queens like Madonna, Adele, and Beyonce. She also sang jukebox song hits like “Pag-ibig na Walang Dangal,” “Tukso,” “Kung Liligaya Ka” and “Luha.”

Karla also retraced her musical roots as a band member by performing their favorite hits. But the ones that really blew the crowd away was her rendition of “Kung Kailangan Mo Ako,” a song she dedicated to her kids Daniel, JC, Carmella and Magui, who all came onstage during the number.

Her closing song “The Greatest Performance of my Life” fairly summed up how she hopes to be remembered by the ones who came to the venue especially when she said, “Hindi na baleng hindi na ito [concert] maulit, ang mahalaga eh natupad.”

Aside from her son’s rumored girlfriend Kathryn Bernardo and her mother Min Bernardo, also present in the audience were Bailey May and his father Matthew, Diego Loyzaga, as well as the Padilla clan led by her ex-partner Rommel Padilla, BB Gandanghari, their mother Eva Cariño and Robin Padilla’s wife Mariel Rodriguez.

According to Karla, she has Mariel to thank for making the Padilla clan’s attendance to her concert possible.

Karla’s parents and family from Tacloban also flew in to show their support for her.
