Esang of ‘The Voice Kids PH’ joins ‘Les Miserables’ Manila run
040716-EsangDeTorres_PUSH.jpgAnother Filipina caught the attention of Les Miserables producer Cameron Macintosh while he visited Manila and that is none other than Esang de Torres who first gained attention by joining It’s Showtime’s “Mini Me” segment and the second season of The Voice Kids Philippines.

Esang was dubbed as Lea Salonga’s mini-me in the noontime show as she sang “Tomorrow” from Annie. During the blind audition of The Voice Kids Philippines, she sang “Home” from The Wiz. Coaches Bamboo, Sarah Geronimo, and Lea Salonga turned around but she chose Lea as her coach. She was later on included in the Top 4 of the singing contest.

Esang is one of the alternates of the character little Cosette, who is Fantine’s daughter. Rachelle Ann Go portrays the role of Fantine in the musical play. Aside from Rachelle Ann and Esang, Filipino-Australian Chloe De Los Santos is also one of the Filipinas in the play and she is also an alternate to little Cosette. Chloe and Esang’s character sings the song “Castle On A Cloud.”
