Lav Diaz to head the jury of Sinag Maynila Independent Film Festival 2016

<div><img src='' alt='040616-SinagMaynila_PUSH.jpg' width='400' height='290' align='left' border='0'>Five independent movies will compete in this year’s <i>Sinag Maynila</i> Independent Film Festival which will open on April 21 and will run until April 26 at selected SM Cinemas.</div><div><br/></div><div>According to internationally-acclaimed director Brillante Mendoza, the board of judges will be composed of film festival representatives from different Asian countries such as Singapore, Hong Kong, and Japan. To lead the jury is internationally-acclaimed Lav Diaz who directed<i> Hele Sa Hiwagang Hapis </i>that bagged this year’s Silver Bear Award at the Berlin International Film Festival. </div><div><br/></div><div>“We are getting the festival director of the <i>Mumbai International Film Festival of India</i>.
