Jewel Mische is currently in the Philippines with husband Alister Kurzer. In an interview with the press, the former Kapamilya actress relayed that they are presently here for a vacation. “It’s for a little vacation to visit family and friends,” Jewel said.
When asked if they have plans to settle down here for good, Jewel responded, “It’s not impossible in the future because he loves the Philippines but we’ll see. Right now we’re very much established where we live.” Jewel shared that both of them are active in church activities in their home in Michigan. “Yeah [in] the ministry and the church just like anything they needed us for like feeding ministry, reading the gospel, sharing about the bible and working with the kids.”
Jewel admitted that she misses showbiz sometimes. “Sometimes I do kasi lahat ng mga naging teleserye ko sa ABS(CBN) don ko lang naramdaman talaga na artista ako, na nahahasa ‘yung pag-acting ko so naisip ko lang minsan na sana mas marami pa akong nagawa na teleserye, na you know I was able sana to show my best, ‘yung ganon so that’s minsan naiisip ko ‘yung ganon.”
But she remarked that she is very happy right now with her life being a married woman. “I’m at my happiest right now even I missed some things na I left behind, I can say still that I am very much contented and satisfied of what we have.”
When are they planning to have kids? “About a year or two. We still want to travel some more and we want to go to more missions as a couple together. That would be hard eh mahirap na meron ng baby, I mean ibang level na, you have to focus sa children. Di ba sa ngayon as husband and wife we are enjoying each other, still learning to live with each other and take care of each other well.”
Jewel and Alister had their first kiss when they wed in 2015. Jewel shared that Alister was actually the one who brought up the idea. “Pareho lang kami na when it comes to intimacy pareho kami ng values, our principles na you have to wait until you’re married, you know, pero ‘yung sabi niya ‘yung first kiss na maghihintay sa wedding idea niya ‘yun. It was really shocking for me kasi ang reason sabi niya it will be harder kasi once you started kissing it will lead to you know, more.”
Jewel said she recommends that couples be only physical intimate within the bounds of marriage. “Because that’s how God designed it and God is the author of romance and physical intimacy or sex to be straight about it. It’s a perfect design, it’s His wedding present, it’s His present for couples.”
