As one of the co-producers of the horror comedy film Echorsis, Kean Cipriano admits that he didn’t mind waiving his talent fee in order to help with the production. In the film, he plays the role of a priest who performs exorcisms and must battle with the devil on a regular basis.
Lahat passionate sa filmmaking, buong puso kahit puyat kami masaya yung vibe ng shoot namin,” he shared during the Echorsis premiere night last April 3 at SM City North Edsa.
Even though Kean’s father recently passed away, the 28-year-old actor revealed he feels nothing but positivity now.
"It’s a good time in my life na na-experience ko itong mga bagay na ito. I believe everything is written in heaven. I believe that kung ano man yung nangyari merong rason so wala akong pakiramdam of bitterness.
“Whatever happened to me like the death of my father, it’s very hurtful. It hurts so much. It’s the most painful thing I’ve ever encountered in my life. Pero that doesn’t mean na I’m going to be sad about it. Kumabaga, I’m a very positive person. Life must go on. That’s the only way to go. Kumbaga, just go with it. What’s important is kung paano mo nakikita yung death right? Parang I see it differently now na it’s a big celebration of life. It’s best to be in a peaceful place,” he explained.
The Echorsis star admitted he was not prepared to deal with his dad’s sudden death but he is trying to be strong.
“No, no way. You can never be prepared for something that’s really so sudden and it’s a death of your father. It’s weird and different. It hurts. It’s heartbreaking of course because we miss him. But life must go on and kami naman natutuwa kami kasi there’s lots of prayers coming from different people na na-touch ng buhay ng dad ko. Okay na yun. Huwag na natin pag-usapan. Baka umiyak ako dito eh. But of course (I’m coping). Dapat. I’m proud to say that I got a strong family holding up and let’s move on. let’s talk about other things,” he said.
On the other hand, while describing married life with Chynna Ortaleza as a dream come true for him, Kean divulged he is ready to start a family. With photos of his wife with a baby bump circulating on social media, Kean did not deny he is ready for fatherhood.
“Yeah of course. Of course I am. It’s another dream come true for me. It’s the best thing in the world. It’s the best thing that ever happened to me. Parang hindi siya ma-explain right through words kung ano yung pakiramdam talaga. Kumbaga unless nasa shoes kita ngayon. Iba siya. Euphoria,” he said.
When asked if he was hoping for a girl or boy, Kean shared why he did not want to share too many details of his family to the public. "I’ll keep quiet about it. I mean, me and my wife talked about it, na parang we thank each and every one of you. We want things, parang yung details parang ibigay niyo na sa amin. Binalato na namin sa aming dalawa kasi it’s a choice. Alam niyo yun, kung ano yung nakikita mo na naglalakad yun na talaga yun eh di ba? Parang steady lang.”
