Angeline Quinto turns emotional on first shooting day of her new film
042916-AngelineQuinto_PUSH.jpgAngeline Quinto will be acting again this year with a comedy film by director Joel Lamangan.

Aside from that, Angeline will also be releasing a new album and headlining an all-female concert together with Kyla, Yeng Constantino, KZ, and Rachelle Ann Go. The concert, titled Divas in Manila, is happening on November 11 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

But since the concert is still a few months away, Angeline is currently focusing on her film. The Queen of Teleserye Theme Songs took to her Instagram account to announce her project on Tuesday.

“Yes with The Joel Lamangan diba! Nakakatuwa kasi the first time na malaman ng Mama Bob ko ‘yung movie na ginagawa ko. ‘Sinong director?’ sabi niya. Sabi ko Mama ‘Si Direk Joel Lamangan.’ Sabi niya, ‘Matinik ‘yun!’ Ganyan ang reaction ko so sabi ko shucks sana hindi ako masigawan,” she said.

Angeline’s new acting project comes after almost two years since her last comedy film Beauty in a Bottle together with Assunta de Rossi and Angelica Panganiban.

“Natuwa ako kasi napakasayang katrabaho ni Direk Joel. Hindi ka matatakot. Alam mo may ibang mga director akong nakatrabaho na parang doon pa ako ilang. Kumbaga sino ba naman ako sa acting project or acting na ganito? Parang natuwa ako kasi nasabihan niya ako ng very good first shooting [day] namin sa Raon,” she recalled.

Since she did not have time to undergo a workshop for the film, Angeline shared that she had to some “self studying.”

“Bago ‘yung first shooting day namin, ni-review ko talaga lahat ng pelikula na nagawa ko, teleserye na nagawa ko MMK na nagawa ako,” she said.

Angeline, who is a devout Black Nazarene devotee, felt that the fact that they shot near the Quiapo church played a good part why their first day of shooting fared well.

“Sobrang naging emotional ako kahapon kahit na nakakapagod kasi ang init-init tanghali nandoon kami sa overpass. Sabi ni Direk ‘See you next shooting day!’ So ako naman siyempre kapag ganon ang narinig mo sa director mo excited ka ulit na magtrabaho,” she said.

Produced by Regal Films, Angeline also shared that she would be working with Billy Crawford, Eric Quizon, Martin Escudero, and Kean Cipriano for the still untitled film.

Meanwhile, her concert with her “musical sisters” is happening on November 11 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum. Tickets for the concert would go on sale starting this August.
