In an exclusive interview with PUSH.com.ph, teen actor Jairus Aquino shared that he enjoys being a resident VJ of the local music channel, MYX.
“Being (a) VJ itself, ayun talaga ‘yug favorite part ko kasi sa MYX kasi, well, like you do everything that you want eh… Syempre may limitations, may mga pwede ka lang sabihin at hindi sabihin, di ba? Pero so far, nag-eenjoy ako,” he said.
Jairus said that with MYX, he can be his true self. “Kung gusto mong tumugtog sa set habang nagvi-VJ, why not, di ba? Sobrang be yourself kasi sa MYX you don’t have to be anyone, you just have to be yourself,” he shared, adding that people appreciate it and that it helps him bring out his best.
When asked which he prefers more between acting and being a VJ, Jairus, who starred in the most recent episode of Ipaglaban Mo, said that he likesboth. “I prefer both. I don’t want to lose MYX and I don’t want to lose the acting side kasi ‘yung MYX, siya ‘yung pahinga ko sa acting. ‘Pag sumobra ako sa MYX, hahanapin ko ‘yung acting. ‘Pag sumobra ako sa acting, hahanapin ko ang MYX kasi ‘yun ‘yung pinakapahinga ko,” he said.
In line with this, he recalled taping the former youth-oriented teen show, LUV U, “Like LUV U, kahit sobrang haba ng week namin, ‘pagdating ng Monday, kahit nagtatrabaho kami, parang hindi. ‘Yun ‘yung pinakapahinga ko. So, kumbaga ‘yun ‘yung MYX sa akin ngayon.”
In a separate report, Jairus said that he hopes to work with LUV U on-screen partner Sharlene San Pedro in an acting project again. Both of them are current MYX VJs.
