On Tonight with Boy Abunda, Binibining Pilipinas Supranational Joanna Eden, Bb. Pilipinas International Kylie Versoza, and Bb. Pilipinas-Globe Nichole Marie Manalo admitted that they all prayed for the Ms. Universe crown.
Kylie was even asked how she felt when a lot of people rooted for her to be the Bb. Pilipina-Universe. “I’m very honored and very flattered, pero we have to understand it is a competition and this is where our fate steps in and International malaking honor yun and we are all winners,” said Kylie
Host Boy Abunda also commented on Kylie’s answer in the Q&A portion of the competition, “I think you nailed it.”
This was the second time Kylie joined the Bb. Pilipinas pageant. The same goes for Nichole.
Nichole admitted the first time she joined Bb. Pilipinas, she was pressured to bring home a title because she comes from a family of beauty queens. One of her sisters is actress Bianca Manalo who brought home the Bb. Pilipinas-Universe title. The second time she joined the pageant, Nichole said, “talagang in-enjoy ko lang siya.”
Nichole revealed she also asked for a sign from the Lord if she would still join a second time and the sign she asked for was, “dapat manalo si Pia (Wurtzbach) sa Ms. Universe kasi maraming nagsasabi 2014 pa lang, kahawig ko na siya. tapos yung in-announce yung winner, di ba first runner up siya, kaya sabi ko ay siguro talagang hindi siya para sa akin. Tapos nung nanalo siya, iyak ako ng iyak. Sabi nila, ‘Nichole, ikaw ba yung nanalo? Bakit ka iyak ng iyak?’ Hindi nila maintindihan na nanghingi ako ng sign.”
Joanna, a half-Pinay half-Australian beauty, was very happy to have won the Bb. Pilipinas-Supranational title and she’s hoping to “win Supra for the Philippines.” “I want to really bring home the second crown,” said Joanna.
