EXCLUSIVE: Jairus Aquino talks about his role in ‘Ipaglaban Mo’
042216-JairusAquino_PUSH.jpgIn an exclusive interview with PUSH.com.ph, teen actor Jairus Aquino talked about his role in the upcoming episode of Ipaglaban Mo this Saturday, April 23.

Playing the love child of the Wendell Ramos and Sunshine Cruz’s characters, Jairus said, “Okay kami ng family ko.

Talking about how he prepared for the role, the MYX VJ said that he internalizes even at home. Tapos syempre, basahin mo ‘yung script para mas lalo mong maintindihan ‘yung story,” he said.

When asked if this will be the start of a different acting path for him, Jairus said that he prefers to stay in the “love team side” although not closing his doors on dramatic roles. Pero why not, di ba? Love team side (muna) pero sana eventually, syempre, kapag ano, drama side na ulit tayo,” he said.

Speaking of love teams, how is he and on-screen partner Sharlene San Pedro?

“Sharlene and I are very, very, super duper close friends and okay naman kami. Okay naman ang MYX namin,” he said.

Apart from their ongoing VJ-ing stint on local music channel MYX, Jairus and Sharlene’s last acting project together was the defunct youth-oriented teen show, LUV U. Jairus, who said that they are enjoying being MYX VJs, admitted he is hoping to work with Sharlene on an acting project again.

When asked if there are specific roles that he wants to do, Jairus replied, “Nagawa ko na ‘yung action dati pero hindi kasi sa’kin nakafocus ‘yung pinaka-action. I want to try action more…
