EXCLUSIVE: Morissette on Sarah Geronimo’s decision to leave ‘The Voice’: ‘I respect her’
042116-MorissetteAmon_PUSH.jpgMorissette is gearing up for the finals night of Himig Hand P-Pop Love Song 2016 competition. "As of the moment I am trying to reserve my voice kasi medyo paos po ako, nagkasakit po ako but ngayon rehearsal namin today I will just try to feel the orchestra and how it is going to go with the live band because ever since we were promoting puro minus one so for sure ito iba na ‘yung feel. I’m nervous but I’m more excited na rin po talaga to really perform the song in a grand stage of course sa Kia Theater," she shared when asked about her preparations for the finals night.

With strong contenders on the show, what does she think is her edge over the other entries in this year's competition? "I think just the thought that the song is speaking about true love bihira na lang din ‘yung mga kantang ganon eh, iba-iba na ‘yung mga sinusulat ngayon so sana ‘yun din ‘yun ma i-deliver ng maayos. Don mo makukuha ang audience."

After her stint in Himig Handog, Morissette relayed that she will be working on the release of her new music video for her second single. She also shared that she might be staging a concert soon. "Ipapalabas po namin ‘yung second single ko from the album titled ‘Throwback’ with KZ Tandingan and Star Creatives along with Stages Talents are planning a concert po for me, that's hopefully going to happen mid-year."

Morissette was also asked about her thoughts on Sarah Geronimo's decision of not coming back as a coach in the upcoming season of The Voice. The singer was on Team Sarah during the first season of the competition. She remarked that she totally respects Sarah's decision.

"I respect her kasi I actually saw her interview sa TV Patrol about that and she explained na she wanted to just focus on her craft. I truly respect her for that because it takes so much guts and energy to be a coach and I know it was not easy for her pero grabe like ako bilang galing from her team she did a great job and to be resting muna from that I would really undersdtand kasi grabe din talaga ‘yung pressure hindi lang sa contestants, pati na rin po sa mga judges,” she said.
