EXCLUSIVE: Jona reveals how she handles the pressure of being compared to other singers
042016-Jona_PUSH.jpgHaving recently moved to ABS-CBN, Jona said that she feels very happy and excited about the projects that she will be doing with Star Music, as well as the opportunity to work with her friends in the music industry.

She also confirmed that she will be releasing an album after she competes in this year’s Himig Handog P-pop Love Songs. Jona will interpret the song, “Maghihintay Ako.” “Hindi ko pa lang alam kung ano ‘yung exact na release date namin pero definitely this year, meron,” she said about the album.

When asked whom she wants to work with in the Kapamilya network, Jona referred to her ultimate idols, “Si Ms. Lani (Misalucha), sila Mr. Gary V. at saka si sir Martin Nievera.”

Does she feel pressure that she will be compared to other singers?

As for her unforgettable moment as a singer, Jona recalled that winning in the singing competition Pinoy Pop Superstar in 2005 which opened doors of opportunity for her. She also described joining in the 2006 World Championships of Performing Arts in the United States as one of the highlights of her career, as well as when she sang the Philippine National Anthem during Filipino boxer Manny Pacquiao’s match versus Miguel Cotto in 2009.

She also recalled an incident that happened during her Journey Into My Heart concert at the Music Museum last year. “Napaos ako one day before so malat na malat na ako no’n, tinuloy ko pa rin ‘yung show.

In the end, Jona thanked her fans for giving her love and strength when she feels down. “Sa mga bago naman na sumusuporta ngayon, thank you very much. Sana din mas mahaba pa ‘yung pagsamahan namin.”
