Karla Estrada admits her new talk show is starting soon
040216-karla_main.jpgAfter signing an exclusive contract with ABS-CBN last March, Karla Estrada admitted she is excited about the launch of Cinemo’s first ever sitcom Funny Ka, Pare Ko which has her playing the wife of Bayani Agbayani. The 39-year-old actress said there are more reasons to watch their show than just for the gags. I’ve been here for almost thirty years, ngayon lang ako nakikilala ng mga tao na nakakatawa pala ako sa kanila. So kailangan niyo panuorin para mas makita niyo pa kung sino kami na mga makabagong komedyante,” she shared during the Funny Ka, Pare Ko presscon held last April 1 at SM The Block cinema.

Karla said she jumped at the chance to work with the ensemble cast which includes Jayson Gainza as well as top comedians from Showtime’s Funny One segment. Well I guess nakakatawa nga dahil natural di ba? Ang pinaka-the best pa rin lalo na sa acting is being a natural actor,” she said.

Aside from their weekly gags, Karla said they will have different celebrity guests. There is also a possibility that her eldest son Daniel Padilla might make an appearance as well. But Karla opted not to divulge who is on the confirmed line-up. Andiyan sina Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt, at Keanu Reeves. Kaya lang minalas malas ako wala talagang kahit isang guwapong nakasama dito (laughs). Marami tayong magiging guests kaya abangan natin yun,” she said.

Karla also gave an update about her rumored daytime talk show which will supposedly be aired in Kris TV’s time slot. "Malapit na po. Malapit na malapit na. Pero mas abangan nila yung akong concert sa April 13,” she added.

040216-karla_main.jpgThe mother of four said her children are all supportive of her upcoming projects. (laughs) So masayang masaya sila. Happing happy talaga yung mga bata.

Being a former sexy star, Karla said she does not believe that she is funnier now because she put on more weight. "Hindi ako naniniwala dun pasensiya na ha. Di ba lahat naman timing? Siguro dumating lang yung right time for me. So whether kung sexy ako ngayon or ganito ako ka-sexy ngayon na mas sexy, eh ngayon dumating eh di ba? So all in God’s time. So ito siguro yung binigay sa aking pagkakataon,” she explained.

Working on the Funny Ka, Pare Ko set with comedians is always a happy time. Karla said there is always a lot of joking around and they try to see if she will lose her cool. "Nag-try sila pero nasaktan sila (laughs). Nag-try sila mamikon.

Watch Funny Ka, Pare Ko every Sunday at 7 pm starting April 3 on Cinemo, the exclusive entertainment channel of ABS-CBN TVPlus. For more information, visit their official website at www.abs-cbntvplus.com
