Asian Superstar Sandara Park or Dara sadly confessed that she got too busy with her career in Korea that it was impossible for her to do projects here in the Philippines.
But if ever she would have time, Dara said that she would want to do a comedy film with Vice Ganda.
In an exclusive interview with Push.com.ph after her press conference for local clothing brand Penshoppe, she revealed the reason.
“Yes napanood ko ‘yung mga movie niya like This Guy’s In Love with U, Mare! and a lot more. May mga DVD nga niya ako sa bahay and ang galing niya. Nakakatawa talaga,” she said.
She added, “When I met him personally, parang ganon siya na krung-krung rin siya. So bagay kami.”
Dara appeared on Vice’s late-night comedy show Gandang Gabi Vice in 2014.
Aside from a comedy film, Dara said she also wants to be a judge on a local show. She even joked, “Kapag ako ang naging judge ‘in’ lahat.”
Her comment came as a loose reference to how contestants of the now-defunct show Star Circle Quest, where she started, were chosen to move on to the next level.
In addition, the Pambansang Krung Krung also hopes to do a rom-com film in the country.
“Kasi iba ang romantic comedy dito sa Philippines. I really love Tagalog movies and kunwari if you watch John Lloyd Cruz parang mai-in love ka sa kanya,” she explained.
Speaking of movies, Dara just finished filming her first ever movie titled One Step. The music drama follows the story of girl who lost her memory after a horrible car accident. In place of her memory, she only “hears sound in colors.” In order to reconstruct her past, the girl enlists the help of a composer and a guitarist.
Since it was her first film ever, Dara said she had a number of memorable experiences while working on it.
“Sobrang nakakatawa, ang pinaka-memorable na thing about the movie was the weather,” she began.
“Kasi dito kasi di ba sanay ako sa tropical and mainit na weather? So nung nag-shoot kami ng January ‘yun, ‘yung pinakamalamig. After how many years ‘yun ‘yung naging -20 ang weather.”
The weather, according to Dara, had a huge effect on her performance.
“So parang hindi ako makapagsalita. I want to deliver my lines pero parang frozen Sandara ako,” she said laughing. “So parang ang hirap palang mag-shoot kapag winter.”
Thankfully though, the singing parts, which were her favorite, were done indoors. So she was able to perform well.
According to Dara, her fans need not wait that long as the film is slated to come out during summer in Korea.
Since she has now ventured into acting, Dara also said that she hopes to do a movie or a Korean drama that is similar to the current hit Descendants of the Sun.
