In an interview with the press, Janella said that she has long been planning to do the charity work. “Oo naman. Actually, the first thing that came to mind when they said 18th birthday, sabi ko gusto kong mamigay instead of like, celebrating,” she revealed.

“Kasi I’m really not a party person. Hindi din ako ma-spend so naisip ko lang, gusto ko lang magbigay instead of receiving a lot of gifts. Wala naman akong gusto in particular,” she added.

Now that she has turned 18, Janella also said she wants to learn how to drive, as well as to travel. “Gustong gusto ko lang talagang matutong mag-drive and gusto kong mag-travel,” she said, adding that she wants to return to Japan, “Kasi hindi ako nakapag-shopping masyado.”

Likewise, Janella’s new onscreen partner for the upcoming TV series Born For You, Elmo Magalona also surprised her with a bouquet of flowers during her party. When asked about their relationship now, Janella admitted, “Noong unang interview ko with Elmo, sobrang hindi pa kami ano talaga pero ngayon, talagang I can say na mas comfortable na talaga ako with him and we’re closer.”

As for her birthday wish, Janella hopes she will continue to be motivated in improving and becoming her best self.
