Janella Salvador on cancelling debut: ‘I felt weird spending so much just for one night just to look
040116-JanellaSalvador_PUSH.jpgOn Tonight with Boy Abunda, Janella Salvador revealed why she cancelled her her debut. “I was supposed to have a debut but I cancelled it kasi parang hassle ang planning. Parang nakapos kami sa time and I felt weird spending so much just for one night just to look pretty and all.”

Asked what she would have wanted to do to celebrate her 18th birthday, Janella said, “I probably want to travel.” She added, “honestly, I just came from Japan. I want to go back for vacation.”

She also thanked her mom who threw her a surprise debut. “When they asked me a message for my mom, wala akong nasabi kasi I was still stunned. I really want to thank her because alam ko the planning took so much. Kasi when I was planning with them nahirapan ako, paano pa kaya she shouldered everything.”

Host Boy Abunda also asked her, “how does it feel to turn 18,” to which Janella answers, “I don't really know. Before 18, you always say I want to turn 18 na, because I want to do this, I want to do that but when you actually turn 18, it’s not an instant thing naman. It’s probably a gradual thing na you’re going to feel. Pero it made me think I should be more responsible with my actions.”

To the question, “are u ready to fall in love at 18,” Janella said, “right now, I’m not yet focused on that. I believe before you fall in love, you have to fix yourself first cause you can’t be a responsible partner din naman if you can’t be a responsible person.”
