Janella was made to believe that she was going to be a special guest performer at the birthday party of a seven-year-old fan named Twinkle. She entered the venue singing “I See The Light” only to be surprised with sparklers and a video tribute for her.

Upon realizing that the party was actually for her, Janella stopped as she got emotional. Nonetheless, she managed to compose herself as she proceeded to the stage where the 18 roses presentation immediately followed. Among the men who danced with the actress were celebrities Richard Yap, Eric Quizon, Robi Domingo (who was also the event host), Kokoy De Santos, Jon Lucas, McCoy De Leon, Tom Doromal, Marlo Mortel, and Janella's little brother Russell.

Janella's 18 candles soon followed after. Among the women who gave a message for her were personalities Jane Oineza, Julia Barretto, Joj Agpangan, Vina Morales, Jamie Rivera, and Roselle Monteverde. Last to give a message was her mother Jenine who also sang Air Supply’s “Someone Who Believes in You” for her.

Jenine told her daughter during her speech, “I believe in you. At times I know you don’t feel that because I always am your worst and best critic but I do, I do believe in you. Maybe that’s why I push you because you I know you can do more…” Moreover, she added, “I’m getting older. I’ve started getting white hair… But I am proud. They are my trophies because I hope that for every white hair I have is a lesson that I had shared with you… Janella, happy birthday. You can do as you please. I will always be here when you need me, if you need me.”

Later, a video of Janella’s 18 blessings was shown where she gave out groceries to the less fortunate. Various celebrities like Ryan Cayabyab, Luis Manzano, Anne Curtis, Vhong Navarro, and Enchong Dee also gave birthday messages for Janella through a video. Likewise, Janella’s onscreen partner in her upcoming teleserye Born For You, Elmo Magalona also came onstage and gave her a message and a bouquet of flowers.

Saying that she did not expect anything, Janella recalled getting informed to sing at a birthday party on the 29th. “Sabi ko, it’s okay, wala naman akong gagawin. Next day pa naman my birthday so I said okay tapos tinext na ‘yung details. ‘Kakantahin mo ‘yung ‘I See the Light’ ah.’ ‘I See the Light’ just so you know, I really wanted it for my 18 roses. I really chose that song,” she said.

Later, she thanked her mother who organized the party, as well as everyone who came. “I just like to say, I am very, very blessed to have all of you in my life and thank you for somehow making me experience having a debut kahit hindi ko na inexpect talaga that I will still have one,” she said.

Janella’s guests also enjoyed performances from Third Avenue and Jamie Rivera.
