PBA Legends root for Mark Pingris, Junmar Fajardo and Terrence Romeo
032816-PBA_PUSH.jpgOn Gandang Gabi Vice, PBA Legends Alvin Patrimonio, Paul “Bong” Alvarez and Jerry Codinera, revealed their monickers when they were playing for PBA. Alvin was known as the “The Captain,” because he was the “captain ball of the team.”

Bong was “Mr. Excitement” because he was admired for his dunks. “Nung time kasi namin medyo uso pa yung mga dunks.” He further explained, “nun pa lang nauuso nun yung mga 360.”

Jerry was known as the “Defense Minister.” According to him this meant, “puro depensa, there was a time na-break ko ang number of shot blocks in one game.”

During their heydays, the three were not only basketball stars but also movie stars. They were also linked to celebrities. Host Vice Ganda read an article linking Bong to Kris Aquino. But Bong shied away from confirming if he had a relationship with Kris.  Bong, however, admitted having a sort of relationship with Vivian Velez. “Parang ganun,” he says when Vice asked him if he had a relationship with Vivian.

On the other hand, Jerry confirmed he had a relationship with Nadia Montenegro.

Asked who they think among the PBA players now are destined for the kind of stardom they enjoyed in and out of court before, Alvin replied, “Mark Pingris, puso niya napakalaki, laban nang laban.”

Bong is rooting for Terrence Romeo. “Gusto ko maglaro si (Terrence) Romeo… fighter maglaro,” he said.

Jerry’s choice was Junmar Fajardo. “Sa kapwesto ko si Junmar Fajardo. Sa ngayon wala siyang katapat sa size niya and skills. Tapos si Terrence (Romeo), kasi nasubaybayan ko siya nagko-coach ako dati, nakikita ko siya kahit sa training nila nun sa Rizal Memorial, hanggang nag UAAP siya hanggang nag-pro siya. May ilalabas pa, marami pang makukuhang awards yun.”
