Hashtags member Ronnie Alonte felt overwhelmed by the rousing and trending positive feedback on his first Maalala Mo Kaya episode last weekend.
The episode featured Ronnie’s real life journey with his family before he got into showbiz.
In an exclusive interview with Push.com.ph at the Diana Stalder CEO’s Dina Stalder’s birthday party, Ronnie confessed that he had mixed emotions before and while the MMK episode aired.
“Una, nung bago palang siyang ipalabas nangangatog talaga ako. As in. So kinakabahan ako na excited,” he described.
Even though the Saturday episode was not really his first acting stint, as he had already portrayed the role of a young Richard Gomez on an earlier MMK episode, it was Ronnie’s first time to take on a major role.
“As in nung nag-start na lumuluha ako ng konti kasi masaya.
While he remained hopeful about his performance, Ronnie admitted that he was very anxious as to how the public would receive his first full-on acting job.
Baka kasi mamaya tawanan nila ako kasi pangit ang arte ko ganon,” he said then added with a smile, “Pero hindi naman pala.”
Although for him the ratings were quite satisfactory given that the show coincided with the observance of the Earth Hour, Ronnie is still very much grateful about how the show fared.
Did people congratulate him afterwards?
“Oo madami.
But since it was his first full on lead role, Ronnie admitted that he adjusted a lot while filming it “Kasi ‘yung kay Richard palang nanibago nako eh, paano pa kaya kung ang lahat ng sequences eh sa akin?
Nakakapanibago rin,” he described.
Now that he got into acting, does this mean that he’s giving it a full go?
“Game na ako! Go lang ng go!” he blurted.
However, Ronnie stressed that even though he would “try” acting, his group Hashtags remains his top priority.
