Julia Barretto has a lot of lessons and experiences after taking on her first bida-kontrabida character as Trixie on And I Love You So.
With her soap together with Miles Ocampo, Inigo Pascual and Kenzo Gutierrez ending soon, Julia, during their show’s finale press conference, opened up about what she learned about love and life through Trixie’s experiences.
Julia realized that when it comes to loving someone, you have to know when to stop.
“With Inigo kasi hindi ako loved back ni Justin [his character] but in the end na-realize ni Trixie na kapag nakikita mo na hindi na talaga, acceptance na talaga,” she said.
She also stressed, “Don’t down yourself for someone who doesn’t deserve it. ‘Wag na nating ipilit.”
According to Julia, the best thing to do is “Tignan natin ang mga taong nagmamahal talaga at may pakialam naman talaga sa atin.”
When it comes to family, Julia reiterated that “forgiveness” remains to be an important virtue.
“If you really love somebody you have to forgive talaga and give another chance,” Julia explained.
Although she admitted that she sometimes finds her character Trixie’s ways way overboard, Julia admitted that she enjoyed taking on the role.
“Sorry pero kapag napapanood ko ‘yung pagkamaldita ni Trixie, natutuwa talaga ako. Kasi I don’t know, sobra kong in-embrace si Trixie, sobra ko siyang na-enjoy and napaglaruan kasi somehow may pagka-parallel kaming dalawa,” said Julia.
Having mentioned that she and Trixie are, in a way, “parallel,” Julia shared that she relates to the façade that is being projected by her character in order to gain love and attention from the people she holds dear.
“What I learned is sometimes it’s okay to put down that wall, that façade para maintindihan ka ng mga tao kung bakit ka ganyan, kung bakit ka ganyan mag-isip para lang maintindihan ka ng mga tao. Sometimes it’s okay to put down the wall,” she ended.
