Jessy Mendiola claimed that she and You’re My Home co-star JC de Vera are not dating.
“We’re both comfortable with each other,” said JC during the finale press conference of their show.
Jessy was more direct with her answer. “Hindi po, hindi po kami. Para direcho na.”
If anything, JC somehow felt sad that he and Jessy were only able to have a chance to get to know each other for a short period of time.
“Kasi diba Direk half nung story diba hindi naman talaga magkalapit si Grace (Jessy’s character) tsaka si Christian (JC’s character) so towards the end doon lang kami naging close, naging kumportable tapos ngayon patapos na ang You’re My Home,” he said. “Buti na lang may Banana Sundae at hindi pa siya tapos.”
Jessy’s closeness with JC has been a subject of curiosity among fans as the latter became a mainstay figure on the former’s Instagram account.
“Nag-iwan siya ng magagandang memories sa akin eh kaya hindi ko talaga siya makakalimutan,” said JC.
He added, “Ganon kami ka-comfortable sa isa’t-isa and nagre-reflect siya onscreen and even on photos. She smiles, when I smile.”
One important factor that drew them closer, according to JC, was their passion for their craft.
“‘Yung samahan namin ni Jessy talaga it was also a surprise. No one expected na magiging comfortable kami sa isa’t-isa. Kaya siguro maganda ang samahan namin because we both wanted to work hard and tingin ko pareho kami ng nasa isip na we wanted na galingan ‘yung characters namin, na magawa namin ng proper,” he explained.
Jessy, for her part, highlighted how their fans known as “Team Turtles,” have come to accept them.
“Nakakatuwa kasi people accept for what we are on the show, kumbaga ‘yung totoo lang walang pretensions,” she pointed out.
But is it possible for her to fall for JC?
“Wala pa sa isip ko ‘yan. Self muna and work kasi parang ang dami kong na-discover sa sarili ko ngayon,” Jessy replied.
“Kasi of course when you come to a point in your life na sobrang low mo biglang dadating ‘yung ma-appreciate mo na unti-unti kang nakakabangon ulit kasi nahahanap mo ulit ang sarili mo. I could say right now that I know myself more now than ever,” she further explained.
Jessy got back together with her ex-boyfriend JM de Guzman last year only to break up again a few months later.
