Angel is also a part of the movie Hele sa Hiwagang Hapis, which recently won the Silver Bear award at the Berlinale International Film Festival. Angel gushed over her encounter with Clive Owen and Meryl Streep at the Festival. “We were at the dinner table. It was a big party of the winners. Of course the jurors were there and there was Clive Owen. He’s very statuesque, very tall, very Adonis looking. And you hear that crisp British accent and that voice and you’re just enthralled. Talagang lumapit lang talaga kami ni Ms Cherie Gil sa kanya and Cherie started kissing him. ‘We love you, you’re so gorgeous. May I kiss you?’ Well, I followed suit. How can I be left behind? (I said) Clive, can I kiss you too? And he said, ‘how can I say no to that?’ It was the best night of my life.
“And then after a while it was Ms. Meryl Streep, she was like a goddess and she was gracious and graceful, generous with her compliments. She was unreal. I never thought I would get to see her that close in my lifetime. And when she saw me she held my hand, probably telling me just wait, I’ll just finish talking to the lady. And then she pulled my face and she kissed me,” Angel added.
Angel also revealed Meryl Streep watched the whole eight hours of Hele sa Hiwagang Hapis. “Pinanood niya ang walong oras. One of the judges told us, she had her coffee and her little blanket, but yes she watched the whole eight hours.”
Host Boy Abunda also asked Angel, at the request of the writers of the show, why she doesn't seem to ‘grow old.’ “Hindi ko alam kasi napupuyat din naman ako. Maybe the spa. It pays that you have access to something like that. F (Angel’s defunct lifestyle show) taught me a lot on how I can take better care of myself, you talk to all these dermatologists…” she answered
She also said she has given importance to working out as her body has also begun to show signs of aging.
