022116-MANNY.jpgAfter world boxing champ Manny Pacquiao’s comment about same-sex marriage went viral online, many were angered by his comparison to the act of homosexuality as something worse than animals.

Mas mabuti pa 'yung hayop, marunong kumilala kung lalaki, lalaki o babae, babae. Kung lalaki sa lalaki o babae sa babae, e mas masahol pa sa hayop ang tao,” he said.

Famous local gay personalities King of Talk Boy Abunda and comedian Vice Ganda both aired their dismay over Manny’s statement. Manny apologized to those who were offended but still stood by his belief that he’s against the act of having sex with the same gender. He explained that the only mistake he made was he compared the act to animals and that he didn’t mean to condemn the LGBT community.

In an interview with Spin.ph, Manny’s showbiz manager Arnold Vegafria said that the senatorial aspirant is willing to talk with Boy and Vice before he flies to the US. Manny is currently training for his fight with Timothy Bradley on April 9 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

"If there's a chance why not? Alam mo, nirerespeto namin 'yung opinyon nilang dalawa kasi 'yun rin 'yung kanilang pinaglalaban. So, respetuhin na lang natin ang bawat isa, I think that's the best,” Arnold said.
