021816-nico_main.jpgIn an exclusive interview with Push.com.ph, actor Nico Antonio, who is known for his character Tolayts in the series On the Wings of Love, talked about when he started acting and how he got his character in the said series.

“I started out acting 18 years old ako when I entered Tanghalang Ateneo. Sa series, kinuha lang ako sa Star Magic parang I was texted by my handler sabi ‘Oh Nico you have a project with Dreamscape it’s called On the Wings of Love with JaDine’ yun na tapos in-explain sa akin ‘yung character ko Tolayts nga ‘yung pangalan and at the same time it is the comic relief of the show.”

Since his character is well-loved by the viewers, he was asked who is his inspiration for Tolayts.

Sina Rene Requiestas idol ko yun kasi napaka natural niya and at the same time si Joey de Leon ‘yan, tapos sina Joey Marquez, Bossing Vic Sotto, sina Panchito, Babalu tsaka si Dolphy. Dito sa show lang na ‘to kasi nga bilang comic relief I have to parang may peg ako ‘di ba pero in general, ang dami kasi depende sa genre na nilalabasan ko,” he said
Nico added that his similarity with Tolayts is that he is “mahiyain na makulit”. Whenever OTWOListas watch the series, they see Tolayts as a perfect lover for Tiffany. Does he have a Tiffany in real life?

Meron. Six years na almost,” he revealed.

Nico expressed his gratefulness for those who warmly accepted his and Bianca Manalo’s tandem in On the Wings of Love.

Sobrang thankful ako sa pagtanggap niyo sa show namin especially sa tandem namin ni Bianca (Manalo) and if you ever see us in the near future sa mga ibang projects please support us.”

Nico is also part of the movie Tandem which is now showing. He will also be a part of the movie Echorsis which also stars comedian John “Sweet” Lapus.
