Singer-songwriter Yeng Constantino’s “Ikaw” was hailed the most viewed Star Music video during the unveiling of Star Music’s YouTube Gold Play Button after garnering over a million subscribers. Yeng’s music video earned more than 52 million views on YouTube.
Now on her 10th year in the entertainment industry, Yeng, who is a product of the reality talent contest Pinoy Dream Academy in 2016, considered the longevity of her career as one of her biggest blessings.
“Isang dekada rin po ‘yung nilakbay ko and never ko po talagang naisip na tatagal ako ng ganito. I’ve seen a lot of reality show winners na nawala rin po. There was a time na sobra akong natatakot na baka ako na ‘yung susunod,” she said, sharing how grateful she is for still being able to write songs and be given more projects.
Currently, Yeng is a judge on It’s Showtime’s Tawag ng Tanghalan and Pinoy Boyband Superstar. Aside from concerts, the musical play Ako si Josephine was also staged to honor her as a songwriter by featuring her songs.
Now a wife to musician Yan Asuncion, it seems that there is still no slowing down for the 28-year-old rock star. When asked about their baby plans, Yeng said, “Balak namin ‘nung kinasal kami, after two years, magka-baby na. Pero sa mga nangyayari nga po na blessings in my career right now, naiintindihan naman po niya ‘yun na pangarap ko ‘to. Sabi ko, ‘love, talagang pangarap ko ‘to. Ngayon talaga dumarating, nagbubukas ‘yung mga pinto.’ Sabi niya, ‘Okay, wala naman problema.’”
Further, she revealed that they are considering options to build a family without affecting their career.
“Ang personal naman nito pero I just want to share. Plano talaga namin ng husband ko magkaroon kami ng first two babies talaga namin tapos ‘yung third is adopted. So, we’re considering na baka ‘yung first ‘yung adopted then ‘yung susunod po ‘yung amin,” she said.
When asked when it will be happening, Yeng said that they are still assessing things considering her workload for next year. Her concert with KZ Tandingan, Kyla, and Angeline Quinto titled, DIVAS Live is set to have a world tour.
“Gusto na po kasi talaga naming magka-baby. Siguro po, magbless po kami ng isang baby sa family namin ni Yan,” she added.
Yeng also talked about how grateful she is for her husband for being so understanding.
“Talagang napakabuti pong lalaki and I will always boast about him kasi totoo, legit talaga na may lalaki palang gano’n. ‘Yung kaya kang intindihin,” she said, mentioning about the demanding nature of her work.
Yeng and Yan got married on February 14, 2015.
