Jean Garcia could not deny that she and Jomari Yllana were spotted holding hands in public recently.
As part of the Regal Films Christmas offering Mano Po 7 Chinoy, actress Jean Garcia admitted that there is pressure to be headlining a popular film franchise. "Oo nakaka-pressure talaga. Sabi ko nga sa kanila, ‘Magsimba nga tayong pamilya. Magdasal tayo. Magpunta tayong Baclaran or Quiapo.’ Kasi unang una napakaganda kasi ng storya namin nung family. Pinaghirapan namin. Kumbaga nag-commit talaga kaming lahat dito sa pelikulang ito at saka may magandang aral kasi siya na matututunan ng ating audience so pressure na sana ma-enjoy nila, na sana maging blockbuster. I’ll be very, very honest, sana huwag lang kumita kundi maging blockbuster. Kumbaga patok na patok sa takilya and it’s for the whole family. Pang-pasok talaga siya, pang-pamilya. Walang pipiliing edad so it’s really for everyone. We’ll be praying for it talaga,” she shared during the Mano Po 7 blogcon held last December 6 in Quezon City.
During the event, local media asked Jean if it was true she was recently spotted holding hands in public with actor Jomari Yllana. The Mano Po star did not directly deny the incident but explained why she went out with him instead. "Nanuod kami kay Radha ng concert sa Solaire theater so yun. Hindi close friends kami. Kasi di ba magkasama kami sa Half-Sisters for two years? Tapos ininvite niya ako to watch Radha’s concert, yung The Big Big Show with Bituin Escalante and Radha kaya kami magkasama nung Saturday. We’re good friends. We’re really good friends. Kasi we’ve been together for two years sa Half-Sisters so naging close kami. Yung (sa Solaire) nanuod lang kami ng concert eh ni Radha. We’re just very, very good friends. Para kaming mag-best friend, very close eh talaga. Para na ring magkapatid, magkaibigan, so huwag na lang sana bigyan ng malice if ever. Hindi natin alam kung anu-ano pero ngayon talaga we’re really very good friends,” she explained.
The sexy actress said that even if she is not in a relationship, it does not mean she is closing her doors on the possibility of her and Jomari being together in the future. "Mahirap kasi magsalita ng tapos eh. Pero for now talaga, we’re good friends. I trust him tapos ganun din (siya). Yung relationship kasi namin ni Jom dumating na sa point na maraming personal na bagay na alam ako sa kanya, marami rin siyang personal na bagay na alam tungkol sa akin. We’re very open eh with each other. We’re very honest, ganyan. Maybe because yung tiwala andoon. Plus talagang ever since talaga, maski na sa ABS-CBN magkasama kami sa Kampanerang Kuba tapos mag-asawa kami. Sa GMA naman pangatlo na namin yung Half Sisters, mag-asawa rin kami tapos yung Alakdana ganun din, partners din kami dun. So marami na talaga kaming pinagsamahan ni Jomari. Siguro kaya rin nabigyan kami ng chance talaga na maging really close. Pero sa ngayon hanggang doon lang. Pero we went out. At saka minsan lumalabas kami, nag-di-dinner kami with the cast, minsan lumalabas kami together,” she said.
Even though she said Jomari is not courting her, Jean admitted she is happy with what’s happening in her life right now. "No, we’re not (exclusively dating). Kasi actually I’m open naman. nag-de-date din kasi ako ng ibang non-showbiz. So wala, I’m not committed to anyone. Walang exclusive dates. Basta I’m just enjoying myself and keeping myself busy sa work and kasi parang feeling ko rin kasi sa sobrang ginagawa ko rin ngayon meron pa akong restaurant na inaasikaso tapos I have my children pa tapos may career nga so sa dami ng ginagawa wala talagang oras. So once in a while I’ll go out but that’s it,” she added.
Mano Po 7 Chinoy opens on December 14 in cinemas nationwide under Regal Films. It also stars Richard Yap, Enchong Dee, Janella Salvador, Marlo Mortel, Jake Cuenca, Kean Cipriano, Jessy Mendiola, and Eric Quizon.
