Matteo Guidicelli: ‘It’s just something that we want to keep the reason private.’
Matteo Guidicelli finally spoke up after receiving a major backlash for his absence at girlfriend Sarah Geronimo’s recent intimate show titled The Great Unknown Unplugged at the KIA Theater.
The 29th Awit Awards host did not even deny that he was absent from the show and he also acknowledged the fans’ reaction in an interview on Wednesday evening.
“There’s just personal reasons underneath it that we discussed,” he began. “Basta there’s other reasons involved and not everybody knows what’s happening and stuff.”
He continued, “It’s better off that way.”
But Matteo stressed that they do support each other.
“We support each other in different ways. So we do respect each other’s wants,” he said.
Does it mean that it was a mutual decision?
“Yeah I guess, parang ganon. But it doesn’t mean na they should get mad or whatever. It’s just something that we want to keep the reason private,” he explained.
But the hunky actor-cum-recording artist was quick to allay the fans’ fears by saying that all is well between him and the Pop Star Princess.
“Ay wala naman. I would understand that, if that’s the case. But there’s nothing wrong, everything’s okay. It’s just a decision that we both made,” he said.
Even though he wasn’t at the venue, Matteo made sure to keep tabs on the show’s events through social media and he’s well aware that the “Tala” singer got emotional during the intimate concert.
“I guess she was very overwhelmed with the turn out and she’s such a humble person na every time she sees all these supporters she gets so emotional and thankful,” explained Matteo.
Matteo is very grateful with how his 2016 has turned out. There was his hit show Dolce Amore and his recently-concluded 10th anniversary concert in Cebu.
He shared that he’s already looking into creating his second album and to bringing his sold-out concert in Cebu titled #MatteoMadeinCebu to Manila.
