Karl Medina to Baron Geisler: ‘He’s a danger to himself and to the people around him’

120616-KarlMedina_PUSH.jpgAfter an incident on the movie set of “Bubog,” where Baron Geisler, reportedly pissed on his co-star Ping Medina, the film’s director announced she would be replacing both actors this week.

The replacement for the role of Ping went to his older brother Karl, who is also an indie actor and is part of the 2016 MMFF film entry “Kabisera.”

The 38-year-old actor, who is five years older than Ping, said he did not immediately accept the role. "Initially oo (may hesitation) kasi nagulat ako na pa-palitan si Ping. Pero after talking to my father (Pen Medina) yun nga nakausap niya si Ping at alam ni Ping. Tapos sinabi nga din ni direk Arlyn na nag-usap na sila so okay na sa akin so go na ako dun. Actually nag-day one na ako sa set nung Sunday tapos meron pa ako this week. I’ve worked with Allen Paul sa ‘Tandem’ with King Palisoc. Kasama niya dun si JM De Guzman,” he revealed.

Although he has been doing indie films for a few years now, Karl said he was shocked when he found out about what happened to his brother. "To be hon-est, yung unang reaction ko nung nabasa ko yung status niya sa Facebook galit talaga kasi bakit mo naman gagawin yun? Maling mali yun eh. It’s not even an acting choice eh. Hindi yun eh. it was rehearsed before pinag-usapan so para sa akin violation yun of trust, trust sa production, trust dun sa co-actors mo.

“Totoo yun eh, blood is thicker than water. Kapatid ko yun eh, kadugo ko yun eh. Natural reaction yun eh.

With regards to the complaint Ping filed against Baron, Karl said their family continues to be a source of comfort and moral support in the issue. As much as possible siyempre ayoko makisawsaw dun sa issue dahil issue nila yun eh. Siyempre ako I will hold back.

Karl remarked that despite what Baron did to his brother, he is not quick to condemn the troubled actor to be banned from showbiz. Pero as a person, kailangan niya ayusin kung ano man yung pinaggagagawa niya

“If he needs to seek help for whatever, I suggest he do so. Tapos ayusin niya yung sarili niya then make amends kasi sa akin, kung itu-tuloy tuloy lang niyang ganyan, he’s a danger to himself and to the people around him. Ayoko na ako pa yung magpipilit na magtanong,’ he said.

After all that has happened, the “Kabisera” actor just hopes his brother will move on from the unfortunate incident.
