As part of Dreamscape’s newest project My Dear Heart scheduled to start early next year, Bela Padilla said she feels blessed to be offered one of the lead roles along with Zanjoe Marudo and new child star Nayomi Ramos. "I was very flattered kasi Dreamscape was offering me two shows and they made me choose which one I wanted to do first and I told them to choose for me whichever they thought was best for me so yun. And then they told us the story from the start pa lang parang naiiyak na ako sa kuwento pa lang so sabi ko if it’s affecting me sa story conference stages pa lang, paano pa pag nandun na? I’m excited,” she told Push.com.ph.
The My Dear Heart actress said playing Zanjoe’s love interest is a big treat. "I’m excited. I’ve never worked with Zanjoe, it will be my first time. I’m a fan and I’ve been watching his shows and movies so I’m really a big fan of Zanjoe, especially in The Third Party. I even tweeted about it na parang it’s so surreal na I was just admiring his work a month ago tapos now I get to work with him,” she admitted.
Currently part of this year’s Ricky Lee scriptwriting workshop, Bela said she is enjoying the sessions. "It’s still ongoing. I’ve only done one so far. It’s so much fun. My batchmates are the best. I’m very lucky kasi my batchmates are already DOPs (Director of Photography), directors, established writers, and then there are also newcomers like myself so it’s a really good mix. I’m hoping to learn a lot from everyone in my batch. Pero ako I still prefer just acting (in a project) kasi there’s less pressure. Of course somehow you feel like you have more control when you have writing credits for a project. But sometimes it’s also nice to just you know, trust someone else completely and do the project that they think fits you,” she explained.
After sharing writing credits in movies like 10000 hours and Camp Sawi, the 25-year-old actress said she has already finished a solo screenplay. "I actually have one already, a full-length one that I wrote by myself and it’s currently in pre-prod stages so wish me luck (laughs). I won’t act in it. I gave it to someone else,” she added.
Bela also shared how she felt about her uncle Robin Padilla’s recent presidential pardon. "I haven’t talked to anyone about it yet but I’m very happy for him. I know he’s been wanting that and I’m sure everyone’s seen how hard he worked for it and he proved himself that he really deserves it naman so sana I’m really just wishing that everyone feels good about it and wishes him well because I do,” she said.
