Richard Gutierrez and Sarah Lahbati on parenting: ‘We still have a lot to learn”

Not at the moment. We’re concentrating on Zion as of now. When it comes to parenting we’re just learning as we go along. Of course we still have a lot to learn as parents but I think what’s most important is your bond with your child and the amount of love that you show your child. So we’re just learning along the way and we try to bring him on every trip that we can because we love traveling. It’s kind of difficult now to travel because there’s a kind of a whole gang with us but we try to do our best just to spend time with Zion,” Richard admitted.Richard said that he does not want to think about his son joining showbiz just yet. 'I think it’s too early. Commercials are fine because he seems to enjoy doing that and we want him to concentrate on his studies, our family bonding. We’ll see where we’ll go in a few years,” he said.When it comes to parenting and time management, Sarah said that she is usually the disciplinarian in the family. 'Most of the time I’m the bad cop (laughs). Richard is the one who spoils Zion. Of course he tells Zion ‘no’ but most of the time I’m the one who tells Zion to time out and those kinds of things. And I think it’s always like that because it’s the mom who disciplines and the dad who spoils but I try to find the balance between spoiling and disciplining. When it comes to time management, well first of all we make it a priority to spend time together as a priority. We make Zion our priority,” she explained.For the holidays, Sarah said there will be a lot of family time with the Gutierrezes. “We’re going out of town. We’re going to hang out at the beach and just spend some good quality time with everyone kasi it’s hard to get everyone together. Everybody’s working so it’s going to be a special Christmas for sure,” she said.
