Ian Veneracion’s first impression of Bea Alonzo: ‘You know, pa-superstar kasi everyone treats her like a queen’
Ian Veneracion did
not bat an eyelash when he revealed his negative misconceptions about his new
leading lady Bea Alonzo.
The actor openly talked about how much
they’ve been wanting to work with each other during their upcoming show A Love to Last’s recently-concluded
But many were shocked when Ian
revealed what he initially thought of Bea.
“You know, pa-superstar kasi everyone
treats her like a queen. You know, ang impression ko noong una, 'A, maarte 'to,
feeling superstar 'to,'” he shared.
But all his misconceptions about Bea
were proven wrong after they started working on the soap.
“Yun ang akala ko. Pero sobrang mali
pala ako kasi sobrang down-to-earth niya,” he said.
But that made him think of her that
“Iniisip ko lang, I mean, matagal na
sa showbiz, tapos hindi ko naman siya kilala. Yun nga, because everybody treats
her a certain way. Hindi mo naman maiiwasan na sometimes you actually believe
that you're special because everybody treats you na ganun,” he quickly
But he continued, “Pero yun nga,
sandali lang, in just a few minutes, nakita ko na, 'Ay, okay pala siya.'”
The actress for her part, revealed
that she initially thought that Ian, whom she calls “Papa I,” was the shy type.
“Noong una, alam ko na mukha siyang
matalinong tao, para siyang mahiyain. Nagkamali ako. Joke!” she joked.
“Hindi, hindi ako nagkamali, masarap
siyang kakuwentuhan,” she said, adding that “Pero noong umpisa, para siyang
If anything, Bea said she easily
connected with Ian.
“Parang may connection agad, hindi mo
kailangang ipilit. Di ba, ganun daw ang friendship, hindi pinipilit, hindi
pinipili, so parang ganun yung kay Papa I,” Bea said.
Catch Bea and Ian on their first-ever
soap together titled A Love to Last together
with their co-stars Iza Calzado, Enchong Dee, Julia Barretto, Ronnie Alonte and
Hanna Vito. The soap premieres on primetime starting this January 9.
