The young actress shares her dreams of following in her mom’s footsteps.
As part of “Mano Po 7: Chinoy,” Janella Salvador said she did not hesitate when Regal Films offered her another project after doing “Haunted Mansion” in the Metro Manila Film Festival last year.
"Of course it’s ‘Mano Po’ so no matter what they say, kahit sabihin na hindi ikaw yung pinaka-main (character) it’s still ’Mano Po.’ It’s something I wouldn’t even think to have second thoughts about. So in-accept ko naman siya agad. Yun lang. (laughs),” Janella shared.
Meanwhile, the 18-year-old actress admitted that it was the highlight of her year to be tapped by Disney to sing the local release of the “Moana” theme song.
"I’m actually so happy kapag nakakakita ako ng mga reaction videos and I see some international bloggers na nakikinig sa version ko and it just makes me so happy kasi siyempre hindi naman ako yung original na kumanta and yet they liked my version.
“Working with Disney is really such an experience so sobrang blessed lang ng pakiramdam. Sana maka-work ko pa ang Disney. Sana maka-work ko rin si Mu-lan so yun lang (laughs). Oo naman gusto ko,” she said
The young star also said being part of an international brand she loves has in-spired her to audition for even bigger things in 2017.
"Siguro medyo nakaka-pressure siya. Pero I’m actually having fun because I’m just being myself. I really love Disney. Since I was small, maka-Disney talaga ako and I guess it’s not hard talaga for me kasi I’ve always believed in doing what’s right naman.
“Actually after doing the Disney concert mas lalo ko na-realize na gusto ko pala talagang i-try yung theater like my mom. And I was actually supposed to audi-tion for Miss Saigon nung nagpa-audition sila nung March dito kasi hindi ako umabot kasi nasa Japan ako nun nag-fi-film (ng ‘Born For You’). Hopefully next time pag meron. Any production naman pero favorite ko kasi yung Miss Saigon. Kung mabigyan ako ng chance next year I’m going to go,” she remarked.
