Richard Yap on his dad: ‘We didn't see eye to eye on the relationship that I had with my wife’

121416-RichardYap_PUSH.jpgOn Tonight with Boy Abunda, Richard Yap said that like his character Wilson Wong Jr. in Mano Po 7, he also had a misunderstanding with his dad. Richard clarified, “I didn't give him the same problems as Wilson Wong Jr. did. Mine was a different kind of problem. We didn't see eye to eye on the relationship that I had with my wife, with the choice of the person that I was going to marry.”

Asked why Chinese families encourage a Chinese to Chinese union, Richard explained, “because we have the same culture it’s not hard to adjust.”

On Fast Talk, Richard said his favorite Christmas tradition is the salubong. Something he learned from his Dad was, “don't sign checks on Monday.” Asked if he is kuripot, Richard said, “dati.”
