Marlo Mortel on dealing with his mom’s cancer: ‘Kailangan mo maging strong and positive’

121416-MarloMortel_PUSH.jpgAs part of the Regal Films franchise Mano Po 7 Chinoy, Marlo Mortel admitted he is happy to be reunited again with his original love team partner Janella Salvador. "Wala naman nagbago. Masaya ako na si Mother Lily nakikita niya yung potential sa aming dalawa ni Janella and kahit papaano nagbalik tambalan pa rin kami so hindi pa rin totally over yung Marnella. And I’m just happy na may work ako (laughs).

It’s been two years since his mom was diagnosed with breast cancer and Marlo admitted he and his family are still coping with the illness. "Actually na-diagnose siya nung nasa Be Careful With My Heart ako. So stage three so hindi niya alam.

The 23-year-old actor admitted he has always been a mama’s boy growing up which is why he really wants to take care of both of his parents. "Yes, yes. May pagka-mama’s boy talaga ako ever since bata pa ako kasi dad ko OFW before so ang naiiwan lang sa bahay ako at si mommy. Very healthy naman siya so hindi namin na-expect na ganito kaya nag-decide na rin daddy ko na tutukan na muna mommy ko di ba hanggang okay siya talaga,” he said.

Despite the sickness in the family, the Mano Po 7 actor said he always tries his best to show a positive persona when he is on TV.
