The Miss Universe Organization says the TV host is excited to come to the Philippines.
The Miss Universe Organization (MUO) officially announced during a press conference today (December 12) with the Department of Tourism that Steve Harvey will be going to the Philippines to host the 2016 Miss Universe this January.
"Everybody is going to make sure that there will be no more mistake. Steve Harvey as he said it was a four minutes of absolute hell for him. He is one of the most popular (hosts) in the US. He is excited to come to Philippines," she stated.
Paula added that they are not yet ready to announce Steve’s co - host but they assured the media there will be someone joining him on stage.
"We are still not ready to announce the co-host. He will be the main person but there will be someone helping him. He's been studying a lot about the Philippines," she added.
The organization also clarified the alleged participation of President Rodrigo Duterte as a pageant judge. According to MUO they have established a rule not to have government officials of the host country as a member of judging panel.
"We established a long time ago not to have government officials as judges because they have to be neutral. I think there’s a lot of pressure when you're the host country. That’s a policy that we have to enforce," Paula said.
