Jasmine Curtis-Smith talks about kissing scene with Louise delos Reyes in new movie

“From the very first day nag-uusap na kami ni Louise, so what’s very important is kung alam mo ng may ganu’ng kailangang eksena, as an actor, ikaw na ang may reponsibiity na gawing kumportable yon for you,” paliwanag ni Jasmine.

“Kasi the most you can do is talk to your director, pero yung mismong acting na, sa yo na yon, eh. So ang ginawa ko naghahanap ako ng common ground namin all the time para pagdating sa time na kailangan na nga yon, na may tensyon, hindi siya awkward.

“Yung tipong it just feels right na hindi naman sa naguluhan ka na kung ikaw pa ba yung role or ikaw yung tao, pero nando’n ka na sa line na may saktong level of comportability na between the both of you that no matter, whatever happens, you know it’s all professional.

“If at her end it’s awkward yung eksena, siya na yung awkward. Hindi ko na ‘yon problem. But it seemed like okay naman. Kasi after noon, we were still talking, we were still able to finish the shooting, so we just kept going as we normally would during the shoot,” sambit pa ni Jasmine.

“Ah, well… I mean if it’s a nice story it doesn’t matter what your role is as long as you play an important and an essential role, I think that what’s matters most. And every story naman, I don’t think a writer or a director would include a character that is not essential for the plot or a necessity in the entirety of the movie, ‘di ba?

“So, for me, it’s all about how well written it is rather than ano bang kailangan sa role na yon.

“No, because this shouldn’t be an issue at all,” pagdidiin agad niya.

“If people on the street can do torrid kissing scenes at what hour of primetime TV, why can’t we make a film with one simple kiss?

“So, there shouldn’t be anything to be afraid of and shouldn’t be anything to be ashamed of, or to even consider when it comes to endorsements because this is just about another film about two people who fall in love.

“Ang difference lang naman is that we’re lesbians people… we’re still people, di ba, so yon,” pagtatapos ni Jasmine.
