112116-JasmineCurtis_PUSH.jpgNow on its 12th year, C1 Originals Festival 2016”s awarding ceremony was held at the Dolphy Theater inside the ABS-CBN Compound on Sunday night, November 20.

Giving recognition to independent Filipino movies, this year”s jury members were respected film enthusiasts –film critic Teruoka Sozo, chartered accountant Ho Hock Doong, screenwriter and producer Moira Lang, director Tikoy Aguiluz, actor John Lloyd Cruz and film critic Philbert Ortiz Dy.

Having officially opened last Sunday, November 13, the festival winners are:

Audience”s Choice (with P100,000 cash prize) – “Baka Bukas”
Champion Bughaw Award for Full-length Film (with P100,000 cash prize) – “Tisay”
Cinema One Minute Top Student Film (with P20,000 cash prize) – “No Seguir” By Nino Justin Tecson of the University of San Jose – Recoletos, Cebu City
Best Short Film (with P50,000 cash prize) – “Maria”

Best Sound – “Baka Bukas”
Best Music – “Tisay”
Best Editing – “Lily”
Best Production Design – “Tisay”
Best Cinematography – “2 Cool 2 Be 4gotten”
Best Screenplay – “Malinak Ya Labi”
Best Supporting Actress – Nataleigh Sitoy for “Lily”
Best Supporting Actor – Jameson Blake for “2 Cool 2 Be 4gotten”
Best Actress – Jasmine Curtis-Smith for “Baka Bukas”
Best Actor – Rocky Salumbides for “Lily”
Best Director – Keith Deligero for “Lily”
Best Documentary – “Forbidden Memory”
Special Citation: “People Power Bombshell: A Diary of Vietnam Rose”
Special Jury Prize: “Si Magdalola at Ang Mga Gago”
Best Picture: “2 Cool 2 Be 4gotten”

Kapamilya celebrities Xian Lim and Coleen Garcia hosted the event while Inigo Pascual, CJ Navato, Marlo Mortel and Diego Loyzaga opened the program with a production number. The audience also enjoyed performances from Bradley Holmes and Daryl Ong.

Among the night”s award presenters included Julia Barretto, Joshua Garcia, Nathalie Hart, Pinky Amador, Baron Geisler, Valeen Montenegro, Jasmine Curtis-Smith, Shaina Magdayao and Ricky Davao, among others.

Veteran actors like Joel Torre and Maria Isabel Lopez were also spotted in the event.
