The agency of Korean actor Lee Min Ho, MYM Entertainment, released a statement that they have “filed a complaint against online users who have persistently defamed the actor,” as quoted in a report on Inquirer.net on Tuesday evening, November 1.
“Posting malicious comments while hiding behind anonymity is an apparent crime,” the camp of the Boys Over Flowers actor added.
Last July, the agency was already reported to have released a statement that they will soon file a case against online users who have been posting false and malicious information about the actor.
“Taking advantage of freedom of speech and anonymity to hurt others through writing is assault and considered a cyber crime. To protect our artists and help create a wholesome internet culture, we will be taking action without settlement or leniency and do whatever we can to make sure the perpetrators are punished accordingly,” MYM Entertainment said as quoted by a report on Soompi.
Among other controversies, early this year, Lee Min Ho has been linked to American pop star Taylor Swift which his agency vehemently denied. Likewise, breakup rumors also plagued his relationship with Korean singer and actress Bae Suzy.
