With the approval of his absolute pardon from the president also comes the opening of an opportunity for Robin Padilla to visit his wife Mariel Rodriguez and baby daughter Isabella in the states.
"Eh kasi yun lang naman ang laging sinasabi sa akin. Kasi pag dini-deny ako yan ang laging sinasabi eh, dahil may prior conviction. Medyo malaki talaga na tinik na nawala. Ako ay umaasa na itong linggong ito sa mga development na nangyayari ay magmula noong sumulat ang ABS-CBN na sa ilalim ng pagtulak ni Ms. Linggit (Tan). Hindi pa ako nakakita ng ganito kaliwanag na daan,” he shared.
Robin said he is hoping to apply for a visa so he can at least spend Christmas with his family abroad. "Basta makasama ko. Hindi naman ako magiging maselan kung anong ibigay sa akin ng US embassy eh. Totoo po ito galing ito sa puso ko kahit bigyan lang niyo ako ng tatlong araw, walang problema sa akin yun,” he admitted during his pocket presscon held last November 16 in Quezon city.
With his absolute pardon, Robin was even game enough to share his message for the US embassy. "Dear Sir/Madam of the US government especially Homeland Security I would like to appeal to your good office na I am now considered a free man and my record are now erased so please, please look into my records. Look into my papers and give me a chance to be with my American wife,” he adds.
