Bea Alonzo talks about staying in showbiz for 16 years.
Currently gearing up for her upcoming teleserye project which is set for release early next year, Bea Alonzo admitted she is looking forward to working with talented actors like Ian Veneracion and Iza Calzado. Unlike her last series Sana Bukas Pa ang Kahapon, Bea shares that her new soap opera is not going to be purely heavy drama. "Siguro yung puwede ko lang sabihin, it’s a story about a modern family na at some point di ba kahit papaano may kakilala tayo na nagkakaroon ng second wife, nagkakaroon ng second family. So it’s a story about that. Pero hindi siya mabigat na soap opera. It’s executed in such a way na may lightness pa rin into it so it’s a very relatable soap,” she said.
The 28-year-old actress said that after more than a decade of being in the industry, she admitted she has gotten pickier with acting projects. "Siguro naman after so many years, it’s my 16th year in the business so siguro kung meron akong natutunan yun eh, hindi ka gagawa ng gagawa. Dapat ito yung mga proyekto na hindi mo pagsisisihan sa bandang huli. And when you accept a project, dapat more of puso mo yung iaalay mo. Unfair sa mga katrabaho mo na nagbibigay ng 100% sa trabaho nila,” she shared.
Bea said that as much as she wants her new series to start airing this year, she has learned to be patient in showbiz. She has already started taping with co-actor Ian. "Well that’s the reality of it. I’d rather wait and make a good project kesa naman gumawa ng gumawa na walang quality yung project. Parang siguro at this point in my career parang I’m after quality than quantity right now so I really choose my projects well. I only do projects that I like to do and that I really believe in just like pagdating sa pag-e-endorse ng mga products. I only endorse products na ginagamit ko. Siguro ngayon I’m mas picky,” she explained.
