Very thankful siguro kasi sa tagal… actually I’m very speechless,” said Gerald during the surprise press announcement of their soap on Monday.He added, “Ako naman lagi akong optimistic and lagi akong umaasa eh kasi sabay naming kami nagsimula and ang mga fans na sumuporta samin andyan na mula simula and with her new fans.”Kim, for her part, was honest enough to admit what she really felt when the project was offered to her.“Nung una, siyempre medyo alangan ako. As in, sobra. Dahil tao lang naman ako siyempre. Pero sabi nga ni Mr. M bakit hindi mo tanggapin ito as challenge sa career mo since hindi kana teenager, hindi ka na pa-tweetums,” she said.After all it’s been a while since they last worked together. “Tapos ang dami naring nangyari sa career at personal lives naming. Parang this is something new na pwede kong i-offer para sa mga taong talagang sumusuporta sakin,” Kim explained.But what does she have to say to the fans of her love team with her rumored boyfriend Xian Lim?“Parang ‘wag na lang gawan ng issue kasi kami ni Xian personally nagkakaintindihan kami, nag-usap kami na trabaho ito,” Kim said.She stressed that Xian also has a different project together with Coleen Garcia. “Wala naman kaming issue and malawak ang pagkakaintindihan naming dalawa. Sana ganon rin ang KimXi fans. Dahil for like six years kami ang magka-loveteam ni Xian,” Kim pointed out.The actress also acknowledged that the KimXi fans have made a lot of things possible for her and Xian.“Parang utang naming sa kanila kung ano man an gaming mga achievements na nakuha naming. ‘Yung mga awards namin together, ‘yun masaya kami sa suporta ng mga KimXi. Hinihiling namin na, sana suportahan nila kami individually ngayon,” Kim ended.The hunky actor for his part was very thankful that their Kimerald fans have stayed throughout the years. “Siyempre thankful kami kasi andyan parin sila and i’m going to give my 110% on this project kasi kung hindi rin dahil sakanila wala kami dito. Sobrang thankful ako sa 10-year na career ko and this was on my bucketlist,” said Gerald. “I wanted them to feel special na talagang andyan sila nung wala pa kaming alam sa buhay.”Kim was happily surprised that many of their fans placed the keyword “KIMERALD IS BACK” on Twitter’s top trending topics.“Kasi nung naging love team kami hindi uso ang trending trending na ‘yan eh. Pinoy Exchange lang kami and sa Friendster and nagsisimula palang ang Facebook nandoon palang kami. Tsaka it’s something new to look forward from this day on,” she said.Kim and Gerald were last paired together in the 2012 ensemble film 24/7 In Love.Ikaw Lang ang Iibigin not only brought together Kim and Gerald, but it also has Jake Cuenca and Helen Gamboa as part after working together for the first time in the 2009 soap Tayong Dalawa.To date, Kimerald has done five titular soaps starting from Sana Maulit Muli in 2007, My Girl in 2008, Tayong Dalawa in 2009 and Kung Tayo’y Magkakalayo in 2010.They have also done three banner films to date. There’s I’ve Fallen for You in 2007, Paano Na Kaya and Till My Heartaches End both in 2010.
