After months of not speaking to each other, Kris Aquino shared in her latest public appearance that she and Quezon City Mayor Herbert Bautista met a couple of weeks ago.
According to her, it was the actor-turned-politician who asked to have lunch with her.
"Napagusapan namin lahat ng kapalpakan, pagkakamali and all," said Kris in a recent interview with the press.
According to Kris they were able to come up with certain realizations after that meeting.
"And the one thing that came out of that lunch is that we both realized that if you want a relationship—I'm not talking about him kasi nasa friendzone na kami —pero kung gusto mo talaga na magka-chance, you keep it to yourself, lalo na when you're public,” she said.
She described the experience as: “It was very healing for both of us."
Kris shared that Herbert invited her for lunch after learning about “problems” in her career, which she refused to talk in detail.
“He knew what I've been going through professionally. And I think there's enough there of a history na alam niya how much this has affected me. So sabi niya, 'Kailangan mo ba na makikinig?'" she shared.
The Queen of All Media bid the Kapamilya network adieu a few months ago and is currently set to work with APT Entertainment.
Kris added that Herbert asked her out to lunch after finding out about the problems in her career, which she refused to detail.
“"He's been through defeat. And he said, 'Don't let that define you.' One thing that really struck with me. 'One bad person should not color your judgment about everybody else. If the deal went south, there's another deal,'" she said.
Kris and Herbert had a short-lived romance in 2014 wherein he asked for her hand in marriage. Eventually the two parted ways following rumors that Herbert’s children with former partner Tates Gana reacted to his new relationship negatively.
Although they have parted ways, the two remained civil to each other. In fact, Herbert and Kris were even supposed to star together in the Metro Manila film Festival movie All You Need is Pag-ibig but the former left the project and was replaced by Derek Ramsay.
