For weeks, there have been rumors that the 2017 Miss Universe pageant will no longer push through in the Philippines.
But reigning Miss Universe Pia Wurtzbach assured that she’ll do everything she can to make the pageant happen in her home country.
“Akong bahala guys. Kalma lang. Ipaglalaban ko yan. I want the competition in my home country!” she wrote on Twitter.

Department of Tourism Undersecretary Kat de Castro clarified that there is no truth about the said rumors just last week.
