Host Kris Aquino took to her Instagram account to air her dismay over people who are continuously spreading “lies” about her.
A post that has been going around on Facebook is presupposing that Kris “brazenly” wore a diamond necklace that supposedly belonged to former first lady Imelda Marcos to the APEC dinner last year
According to Kris, the post was shown to her by her friend JC Buendia and her sister Viel Aquino-Dee.
“Duh? The necklace I wore was made from cubic zirconia & silver. Hindi po DIAMONDS, in other words fake sila although Bottega Veneta naman,” she said.
Kris stressed, “ENOUGH! And the TRUTH is on my side—including credit card receipts.”
The actress-host even taunted those who are spreading the rumors by saying that she would wear the said necklace to an upcoming event this week.
“Even if my necklaces aren't appropriate for showing how you can remove more than 100 different types of stains- what the heck, isusuot ko na sila, after all I paid for them w/ hard earned, tax paid income, and hindi ko na problema kung yung pagnanakaw ng iba trip nilang ibintang/pagtakpan using me,” she said.
Kris continued, ”And to be perfectly clear, I'm not referring to Mrs. Marcos. So this is FAIR WARNING- stop lying about me if you don't want your rotting skeletons unearthed.”
Controversies about the said necklace first became public late last year, after the APEC dinner. But the Presidential Commission on Good Government (PCGG) was quick to clarify that Kris has no access to the sequestered jewelries of the former first lady.
Kris’s photo wearing the necklace was shown side-by-side with the former first lady’s necklace, an image of which was taken during the jewelry collection’s appraisal at the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP), where it has been stored for over two decades.
