Steve Harvey says he ‘really needed’ the interview with Miss Colombia Ariadna Gutierrez

<div><img src='' alt='012016-steve2_main.jpg' width='400' height='290' align='left' border='0'>Before Miss Colombia Ariadna Gutierrez went up onstage on his talk show, host Steve Harvey let his audience know what’s on his mind about the upcoming interview.</div><div><br/></div><div><a href='https://push-data.abs-cbn.com/push/archive/features/51414/steve-harvey-recalls-events-during-awkward-miss-universe-2015-gaffe/'>It may be recalled that Steve has previously recalled the “awkward” incident</a>  <a href='https://push-data.abs-cbn.com/push/archive/features/51156/miss-universe-host-steve-harvey-apologizes-for-human-mistake-on-miss-universe-2015/'>and has even apologized for his mistake. </a></div><div><br/></div><div>But the interview was the first time that the two would be seeing each other after the horrific coronation night.</div><div><br/></div><div>Even though he revealed that he and his family got death threats, not to mention global bashing, Steve said: “What everybody around the world I hope to find out about me, and the people in Colombia included, was that I’m a man. I own it. Whatever it is.  This wasn’t anything that was against Colombia.”</div><div><br/></div><div>He even reiterated that if he could only turn back time, he would have done things differently during that night.  </div><div><br/></div><div>“I didn’t want that moment for any of those women. But I really hated the moment for Miss Colombia because we can all say what we want to say and feel about her or me and Miss Philippines who is now Miss Universe but nobody in the world could tell her how she should feel because it has happened to no one in the history of the pageant,” he explained.</div><div><br/></div><div>Contrary to speculations, Steve clarified that he’s not even nervous about talking to Ariadna. However he quickly added, “But I do want to hear from her. I want to make sure she’s okay.” </div><div><br/></div><div>Even though he has repeatedly owned up to his mistake, Steve nevertheless stressed that he “hated what happened to her.”</div><div><br/></div><div>“I do need this though. I really need this. I really, really need this. I need her to hear from me,” the host said. “I hope she’s forgiving. If she’s not, I’ll stay in the mist a little while longer. I’m tired of it really. I’m tired.”</div><div><br/></div><div>After the interview, wherein Ariadna claimed that she has already moved on from the event and that she’s also not planning to take any legal actions against Steve, the host was nostalgic about standing up after committing a mistake.</div><div><br/></div><div>He shared that he has learned a lot of lessons and realized that how, coincidentally, a “tragic” or a “challenging” event almost always precedes a success in his life.</div><div><br/></div><div>Amid all of what he experienced lately, Steve stressed that he’s not the type to allow misfortunes to get him off the track.</div><div><br/></div><div>“I wasn’t raised to allow a mistake to determine my future, to erase all that I’ve done in my life because I made a mistake. None of you should allow that. None of you should allow to make a mistake to define the rest of your life. So what if you made a mistake?
