Darren also revealed that when it was just him and Lyca Gairanod on the stage of The Voice Kids Season 1, he expected the worst but “all of us wanted to win the title of The Voice Kids.” Darren cried that night but he quickly recovered. “Sa backstage po, I was happy for my little sister Lyca.”
Asked if he is a bigger singer now than The Voice Kids Season 1 grand winner Lyca, the ever-humble Darren answered, “I am not focusing on those things but I believe we are being equally treated by the management.”
Darren also said he is overwhelmed by the number of supporters and fans he has.
Recently, Darren sang Sia’s “Chandelier” on one of his radio guestings and as of writing, the video already has 1.7 million hits. Darren shared he didn’t expect the video to go viral. Ha added, “It’s humbling po. They posted it on Youtube tapos nakita ng 9gag.” 9gag is a social media site.
Host Boy Abunda commented on the video and said Darren sang effortlessly and he seemed to be just enjoying the song. “Opo, because I believe you should just enjoy the song and sing your heart out when you’re singing,” Darren told Boy.
In A&A’s Fast Talk portion, Darren picked ice cream over cake, Justin Timberlake over Justin Bieber, Nikki Minaj over Miley Cyrus, and Ariana Grande over Miley Cyrus. His favorite superhero is Superman and if he were a song his title would be “Stronger.” The first thing Darren does when he wakes up is vocalize and pray. His favorite song now is “Chandelier” and if someone opens Darren’s heart, they would see the words “always stay humble.”
