Turns out that the
song “Barcelona” won’t be singer-actress Glaiza de Castro and Kapamilya star
Angelica Panganiban’s last song collaboration.
It was three years ago when news of Angelica and Glaiza’s collaboration first surfaced after it was revealed that the song was the Banana Split star’s song for her then new boyfriend John Lloyd Cruz.
In a recent interview with Glaiza for her upcoming concert titled Dreams Never End which is set to happen on October 3 at the Music Museum, she revealed that she and Angelica will be working together again soon.
“Actually meron pa kaming ibang songs na hindi nare-record. So far ‘yung mga nasulat ni Angelica nasa apat. So dalawa lang ‘yung na-record. So, I still have two more songs that I have to yet to record and produce,” she said.
When news about “Barcelona” became public, many were surprised how Glaiza and Angelica came about it especially since they come from two different networks.
To this, Glaiza shared, “Actually ‘yung kay Angelica hindi naming plinano mag-compose. It just happened na nung time na, time niya pa ‘yun with Derek [Ramsay]. Matagal na ‘yun and over naman na siya doon tapos marami siyang mga pinagdaraanan na problema.”
According to Glaiza the four songs were “Ganti,” “Barcelona,” “London song,” and “Waiting Shed.”
The 27-year-old star shared that their collaboration went so well that she and Angelica even considered selling their compositions to other singers. “Like sila Yeng [Constantino] sila Jed Madela tapos parang alam ko nagka-interes sa isang song kaya lang parang hindi natuloy lang.
“Parang dumating talaga kami sa point na ‘Grabe no pwede natin siyang gawing seryosong venture.’ Parang kami ‘Siguro kung hindi tayo nag-aartista pwede tayong maging composer,’” she added.
In the end, on top
of their realization, Glaiza is just satisfied that their creation of songs,
which their fans eventually loved, happened so “organically.”
