‘Heneral Luna’ creators call the attention of netizens bashing other films

<div><img src='' alt='092615-HENERALLUNA_main.jpg' width='400' height='290' align='left' border='0'>Instead of fanning the flames, creators of the highly-acclaimed local biopic Heneral Luna took to their Facebook Fan Page to police the posts lambasting other films in favor of theirs.</div><div><br/></div><div>Turns out, a number of fans who loved their execution of the biopic have singled out popular mainstream plots such as romance-comedy and “mistress films” for their “lack of substance.”</div><div><br/></div><div>The post started with, “In the last couple of weeks since our film opened, there have been some postings that show support for <i>HENERAL LUNA</i> while bashing our fellow producers/filmmakers in the film industry.</div><div><br/></div><div>“Please know that<i> Artikulo Uno</i> does not support this kind of attitude in any way, shape or form,” the statement said. <i>Artikulo Uno</i> is the production company that created the film and coincidentally, it the favorite “revolutionary law” that Antonio Luna often mentions in the film.</div><div><br/></div><div>Despite condemning the said deed, the team recognized the fact that they cannot really stop whatever is spreading online.</div><div><br/></div><div>“We have no control over what anyone on FB posts, using stills from the film or culling photos of our filmmakers. If <i>Heneral Luna</i> were around today, he'd have little to no tolerance for these kinds of nasty FB postings and memes, especially the ones that bring divisiveness amongst us,” the statement said.</div><div><br/></div><div>In the end, the statement affixed a quote from Luna himself: '<i>Ito ba talaga ang tadhana natin, Paco? Kalaban ang kalaban. Kalaban ang kakampi. Nakakapagod.</i>'</div><div><br/></div><div>Of late, <a href='https://push-data.abs-cbn.com/push/archive/features/45581/heneral-luna-will-represent-ph-in-oscars-foreign-language-category/'>the film which will be the country’s entry to the Oscar’s foreign language film category</a>, <a href='https://push-data.abs-cbn.com/push/archive/features/45629/epy-quizon-laments-uninformed-remarks-about-apolinario-mabini-in-heneral-luna/'>has once again been the center of the spotlight after confused social media posts asked why Epy Quizon’s character Apolinario Mabini was seated during the entire film.</a></div>
