As It’s Showtime celebrates its sixth year anniversary with a major celebration this coming Saturday, September 26 at the Araneta Coliseum in Cubao, Karylle admitted that the excitement is growing among the hosts and the crew of the show. During the recent ABS-CBN trade launch, the hosts opened the program with an impressive production number which Karylle said was just the tip of the iceberg. "Parang everyday nag-wo-warm up kami sa anniversary. Yung ginawa nga namin sa trade launch patikim lang ito. Parang warm-up. Siyempre sa Sabado meron kaming pa-contest na first time gagawin sa Showtime. Abangan nila kung ano yan. Pinaghahandaan na nami. Ang ginawa namin ni Jhong Hilario nag-aerial kami ulit. Siyempre anniversary, eto pa anim-versary pa. Siyempre gagawin namin ang lahat,” she shared.
The Showtime host is back from a European trip with husband Yael Yuzon which also became his first international marathon event "I went on a two-week vacation. Nag-bonding kami ni Kuya Kim Atienza. Actually hindi ako sanay magbakasyon pero ininvite niya ako. Chinallenge niya si Yael mag-marathon and first marathon niya yun. It’s our first couples trip actually. It’s nice to learn from couples who’ve been together for such a long time. Importante yan sa buhay sa magkaroon ka ng good influence pa. At saka ang ganda kasi bonding kami ni kuya Kim. He’s like the kuya I never had,” she admitted during the Smile Kapamilya trade launch last September 23 at the Marriott hotel Grand Ballroom in Pasay city.
Even though the trip as also their second honeymoon of sorts, Karylle said no baby announcements yet for them this year. “Wala pa. We’re just ready. Mahirap kasi ma-pressure masyado minsan nagiging stress yun so kami we are ready and when the right time comes, alam naman ni God kung kelan yun so siya na lang bahala,” she admitted.
While in France, Karylle was also able to meet up with her newly-engaged mom Zsa Zsa Padilla. "Nagkita kami ni mama sa Paris at ang kanyang fiance. Galing sila siyempre sa napakatagumpay na ASAP London and minsan nakikipag-meet and greet din kami sa mga fans especially Yael he’s very active on Facebook so we met a lot of Pinoys. Na-tour nila kami, binibigyan nila kami ng regalo. Tapos pumunta kami sa small town called Grasse na may mga lavender fields. And then we went to Rome kaya lang si pope nasa Amerika eh,” she said.
Karylle admitted her mom’s fiance Conrad Onglao has impressive cooking skills which helped him win over their entire family. "Oo naman. Grabe you know he cooks this really mean mechado and he cooks it to go kasi last time nagreklamo ako kung wala bang pabaon? (laughs). Siyempre di ba hindi pa ako ganun kabilis magluto so maganda yung meron kang i-hi-heat lang. A way to anyone’s heart is through their stomach lalo na pag matakaw (laughs),” she shared.
Wedding plans for her mother are still not set according to Karylle. “Wala pa eh. nag-ti-tingin tingin sila kung saan nila gustong magpakasal pero for now nag-e-enjoy sila mag-selfie as a couple almost to be wed. Ang cute nga ni tito Conrad he showed me the ring before he did it so sobra akong touched. Wala pa talagang plans hindi pa namin napag-uusapan. Actually they also just arrived from vacation so we’re planning out this week when we’re going to meet up. Basta lahat kami andun. Kung ano pa man yung plano hindi pa naman final so I know everyone’s excited, yung barkada ni tito Conrad they’re excited too. I haven’t really talked to everyone about it."
Having been gone for the past two weeks, Karylle said she was not aware about her friend Gab Valenciano’s controversial post online that came with mixed reviews.
Karylle said that she understands where her close friend is coming from and hopes the public will not take this personal views against him. "Si Gab is a very passionate guy. I haven’t read his rant or ano man. Hindi naman rant. Actually he’s just very expressive as an artist, as a person. That’s because he’s growing and he wants to be more, do more. Sorry ah, hindi ko nabasa. Hindi ako masyadong nag-fo-phone nung wala ako pero I love Gab and of course si Tricia din. We were at his wedding. So whatever it is it’s a journey of an artist. What people have to understand is that artists go through a lot of things when they’re growing. And as long as there’s growth and improvement wala na yun. Minsan kung ano man yung sinasabi ganun talaga,” she explained.
