Sharon Cuneta says she and her husband Sen. Kiko Pangilinan are still praying for his next political move.
Just a week ago, Megastar Sharon Cuneta’s husband, Sen. Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan tendered his resignation as a member of President Noynoy Aquino’s Cabinet.
This resignation spawned rumors that the former food security czar has plans of seeking higher office. In fact, prior to Sen. Grace Poe’s announcement of Sen. Francis “Chiz” Escudero as her running mate, rumors circulated that there could be a possible tandem with Poe as president and Pangilinan as vice president come the 2016 national elections.
In an interview during the recently-concluded Shine Kapamilya trade event, the Your Face Sounds Familiar juror was non-committal about her husband’s political plan.
“Pinagdarasal pa niya pero medyo napapagusapan na namin. Pero pinagdarasal pa,” she emphasized. “Naghihintay pa ng sign.”
Deputy Presidential Spokesperson Abigail Valte in recent reports claimed that the lawmaker will seek another term in the Senate.
Although she hasn’t confirmed anything, Sharon remained supportive of her husband’s political plans.
“Oo tsaka hindi naman kami nagaambisyon ng kung ano ano pa man makatulong lang,” she said.
Sen. Kiko is a member of the Liberal Party (LP), who has former Interior Secretary Manuel "Mar" Roxas II as its standard bearer for next year’s elections.
